Alaska Strip Club Culture
When visiting a strip club in Alaska you will find like many things in the last frontier, it's not quite like anywhere else on earth. First off, there are only about six or seven strip clubs located in Alaska, the majority of which are found in the state's biggest city, Anchorage, unlike in the rest of the United States where there's a club on every corner.Second, Alaskan strip clubs are small and close nit, don't be surprised if everyone in the strip club knows one another but you. You're not going to see different girls every night, or deal with a great deal of strangers. An Alaskan strip club is more just one more local bar than a place to ogle naked bodies. You're going to have the same bartender, the same D.J., the same dancers, and likely the same fellow customers almost every time. Of course that doesn't mean you won't be welcomed with open frozen arms.
Good Time Charles in Soldotna located on the Kenai Peninsula for example, has been there so long it's more of a land mark pub than a strip club, and once upon a time was world renowned bringing visitors from far and wide. Charlie and his dancers welcomed them all. The bush company in Anchorage was also once visited by MTV's Dave Attell.
The majority of Alaskan strip clubs look sort of like your average bar, but with a stage for girls and nothing more. This is not to say Alaskan strip clubs aren't fun, or don't have beautiful examples of real American women, but that they just may not be the same sort of strip club your used too or expect to see, and perhaps that's a good thing. The best thing about Alaska after all, is it's unlike anywhere else in the world. Why should its strip clubs be any different?
